New Years' resolutions. Making promises to ourselves that we may or may not (but generally never) keep.
And here I sit, twelve days into 2014, exposing my own resolutions to the great vast internet in a hope that I might stick to them. Cliché, right? Most certainly.
So here we go--ready your armies, batten down the hatches, brace yourself; it is time.
1. Blogging. It is my hope that I can get at least 2 blog posts written each week. At least. I'm hoping that, since I'll begin driving this spring, that with my newfound limited freedom (limited freedom? Seems a bit paradoxical, but it'll have to do) I'll be able to go out and do some more exciting things and therefore have more to blog about.
2. YouTube. I'm incredibly passionate about YouTube. Maybe too passionate. I just love how it's an avenue for so many different people to come together and tell their own stories through various kinds of videos, whether comical or in the form of dramatic independent short films. I really want to begin vlogging and I'm hoping to stick to a regular upload schedule this summer after I invest in a fancy new camera.
3. Writing. This is a resolution that I'm really going to push myself to uphold. I've been really neglectful of my writing and one of my goals this year is to start and finish a story, whether it's one I decide to get published or not.
4. Get a Job. ...this one seems fairly self-explanatory.
5. People. Love everyone as Christ first loved me and be a light to the lost.
6. Music. I need to continue to write songs for my band and I think I'm also going to attempt to learn the piano again.
7. Enjoy life. Sometimes I need a reminder that it's ok to sit down and relax. I'm anxious about so much unnecessary stuff and I need to insinuate to myself every once in a while that I do only have one life. I'm still young. I don't have bills to pay yet, taxes to take of, or anything keeping me from trying new things. In the words of Lorde, "I'm only as young as the minute is"; therefore, I think I should spend this year doing things that I'm free to do while I'm young and still living at home.
I'm hoping to make 2014 a year to grow spiritually and to embrace and enjoy my life as it is. Spend more time with friends, visit more places, step out of my comfort zone and try things that I've never tried before.
What are some of your resolutions?
Until next time,
Kennedi
