Hello, friends.
It would seem that I completely failed at trying to remain diligent in my blogging efforts. Oh well. All failures aside, my exact intentions for this blog are not for it to become popular, or heavily visited, or widely read; but, instead, I hope to use it as an open journal for myself to keep track of all the goings-on in my life. Simply put: I have no intentions to keep my blog updated in an effort to conform to readers' desires (as few as there may be), but instead to document my activities as I feel the need to. :)
But, out of courtesy, I shall still attempt to remain diligent, because I wholeheartedly believe that writing is quite good for the soul and I myself greatly enjoy reading other people's blogs and thus shall try to regularly update my blog in case I have readers who look forward to my ramblings. :)
Quite a lot has happened since my last blog post. I shall aim in this post to educate you on the latest events I've embarked on.
Acquire The Fire - 2.14-15.14 - On Valentine's Day this year, myself, my father, my sister, and a few of my dearest friends took a pilgrimage to Indianapolis for an event called Acquire The Fire, or ATF. It's a 27-hour-long worship session with breaks only long enough to head back to your hotel room, get about 6 hours of sleep, and be on your way to the Convention Center again before the crack of dawn. This year's theme was The Epic Truth, and most of the teachings revolved around creationism and the amazing truths that surround us every day in our lives as Christ-followers. I, personally, was tremendously inspired and touched by the messages that were spoken and I enjoyed the incredibly moving fellowship that I engaged in with some 4,500 (or thereabouts) other followers of Christ.
There were also three performances by some highly talented bands. Audio Adrenaline, We Are Leo, and Rapture Ruckus were the headliners. All of them are super talented and it's great to see musical groups perform their hearts out as they worship the King of Kings.
District All-Nighter - 2.28-3.1.14 - On February 28th, I set off with my youth group to a church in Fort Wayne to spend a night hanging out and growing closer to everyone. At the church, we sat in with about 700 other kids/teenagers (comprising of various youth groups) and worshipped. We also received a message on forgiveness and the act of extending grace...something that I found to be very eye-opening and useful to my own life. After a giant pizza party (which occurred at around 10:30 p.m.) we left to go roller skating, bowling, laser-tagging, and jumping on giant trampolines (mind you, I only participated in the roller skating and bowling, as I did not particularly want to kill myself on giant indoor trampolines or by tripping in the dark whilst running from fellow humans who happened to be sporting laser guns). We finished these activities at about 6:00 a.m., and we returned for pick-up at the church at around 6:45. I received about 5 hours of sleep, as I had to wake up again at noon to attend my niece's first birthday party. *sigh* It was absolutely exhausting, but I was incredibly blessed from the event. :)
Well, now you have an update on a few of the episodes of adventuring that I embarked upon last month. I look forward to getting back in the swing of blogging. :)
Until the next time,
Kennedi
